Manchester City lifted the Champions League title for the first time in history in 2022/23 to complete a historic treble-winning campaign.

Rodri’s second-half goal secured a 1-0 victory for the Premier League champions against Serie A side Inter in last season’s final and Pep Guardiola will be eager to see his side retain the trophy this term.

As defending champions, City take their place in Pot 1 and they will discover their group-stage opponents when UEFA bigwigs conduct the draw at 5pm on Thursday, August 31 at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco.

The latest Champions League odds are on the Paddy Power website and Paddy Power app, otherwise everything Manchester City fans need to know about their prospects in the group-stage draw can be found below.

Who could Man City face in the Champions League group stage?

Manchester City cannot face a fellow Premier League side in the Champions League group stage so a potential meeting with Arsenal, Manchester United or Newcastle United is off the table until later in the competition.

There are six possible sides the Citizens could face from Pot 2 including Real Madrid, the most successful club in the history of the competition, and last season’s finalists Inter.

Pep Guardiola’s side could be drawn alongside any of the eight teams in Pot 3 while Newcastle’s presence in Pot 4 means there are seven potential opponents from there.
