Next Ireland Women’s Manager Odds: Search begins for Vera Pauw Replacement

Who's next in the hot seat?

Paddy has opened the betting on the Next Ireland Women’s Manager after the FAI opted not to renew Vera Pauw’s contract last night.

Despite it being early days we’re expecting to see a surge of interest in this market which tells its own story of how far women’s football has come in the country since the beginning of Vera Pauw’s reign.

Given the importance of the appointment of Pauw’s successor we’re expecting it to take some time and have plenty of twists and turns in our betting before the FAI make their choice.

We make interim manager Eileen Gleeson the early favourite with current backroom team member Tom Elmes next in the betting.

Former Manchester United coach Casey Stoney is among the front runners at where she is joined by Liverpool manager Matt Beard while Laura Harvey and Alan Mahon are available at longer prices.

Other notable contenders include former England manager Hope Powell, former Ireland boss Colin Bell and Chelsea head coach Emma Hayes.
