Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson has challenged YouTuber-turned-combat-sport star Jake Paul to a fight after defeating Sheffield United’s Max Lowe at the weekend.
The 76-year-old is brimming with confidence after successfully disposing of a man 50-years his junior and has dared Paul to meet him in the octagon.
Hodgson was stood in his technical area as the ball landed near his feet during the clash at Bramall Lane.
When Lowe came over to take a quick throw, the Eagles boss landed a series of blows on the defender including a powerful left hook which resulted in a TKO.
‘You want some? I’ll give it ya’, said the Croydon Crippler during a press conference following Saturday’s victory.
‘I’ll meet you any time, any place, Jake. In the ring. In the octagon. Even in my local Waitrose’.
‘And tell your brother that Prime stuff tastes like p*ss’, roared the former Inter Milan boss before ripping off his t-shirt to reveal his chiselled physique and a plumage of silver chest hair.
Upon hearing Hodgson’s taunts, Paul took to YouTube to accept the challenge.
‘Calling me out has to be the stupidest thing Roy has done since spending £4.5m on Christian Poulsen’.
‘I’ve heard his trash talking and he makes Derek Chisora sound like Muhammad Ali’.
‘He’s absolutely spot on about the Prime though. It tastes like p*ss’.
Pundits are describing it as the most difficult challenge Hodgson has faced since he tried to pronounce FIFA World Rankings on live TV.
Paul is fresh from defeating MMA fighter Nate Diaz in a hugging match via a unanimous decision and has a slight age advantage, in that, Hodgson was 50 years old when the YouTuber was born.
‘People will disrespect him because he’s a YouTuber, but Jake Paul is arguably the second-best boxer in his family’, UFC’s Dana White told Paddy Power News
