Kylian Mbappe has been offered an absolute boatload of money to move to Saudi Arabia for a year before being free then to move to Real Madrid. PSG don’t want him to run down his contract in Paris and want their money’s worth but Mbappe doesn’t seem to want a move to Saudi.
Phil Thompson gives us his thoughts on where he’ll be playing this upcoming season and why he wouldn’t welcome him on Merseyside.

Kylian Mbappe was a Liverpool target a few years ago. But y’know what, I wouldn’t want him at my club. Why? Because he’s a Paul Pogba, he’s a Cristian Ronaldo, his attitude is shocking, it’s dreadful. He only thinks about himself.
I think though that he does fit Real Madrid and that’s why it would be best for him to go there. Yes, he might go for £259m or whatever the price will be, the money is mind boggling.
Would he suit the league in Saudi Arabia? I think there’s a possibility he goes there for 12 months and then gets his move to Real Madrid but would the Saudis really accept that? Yes, they have money to burn over there but I don’t think they would want that.
My thinking is there’s going to be some kind of compromise here. Look, it’s Real Madrid, this deal will be done, the deal between Real and the agents has probably already been sorted and people might complain that that’s against the rules but look, that’s just what happens with most transfers.
This move is massive and maybe Real are saying, OK, you can go to Saudi for a year, or stay in Paris and then come to us but PSG are saying, no, that can’t happen. They just cannot allow him to run down his contract in Paris, they’re going to want to get their money’s worth.
I think Real have the money and they’ll dig deep and I think Real Madrid will be his next place of work.
