Get your passports ready!

The new Premier League season is upon us and some of England’s biggest clubs have the prospect of playing in European competitions to also look forward to this term.

While the usual suspects booked their place in the Champions League, we also have some fresh faces in the competition in Eddie Howe’s Newcastle side.

The Premier League will also be represented in the Europa League and the Europa Conference League this season, with Aston Villa retuning to the fold and Brighton booking their place in Europe for the first time ever.

So, who’s playing in what competition? Paddy Power News has all you need to know about who will feature in Europe next season.

Champions League

Premier League champions Manchester City booked their place in the Champions League as they won their fifth title in six years.

Pep Guardiola’s men beat Inter Milan 1-0 in Instanbul to win their first Champions League trophy and complete a famous ‘treble’ having earlier added the FA Cup to their Premier League title.

City will be joined by Arsenal, Manchester United and Newcastle in the biggest European competition.

Arsenal are back in the Champions League for the first time since 2017, while Eddie Howe guided Newcastle to a place in the competition for the first time since 2003.

City, Arsenal, Newcastle and Man United will automatically go into the group stage and they will not feature in the qualifying rounds.

Europa League

Liverpool and Brighton have booked their place in the Europa League.

The Reds would have been aiming to play in the Champions League, however, Jurgen Klopp’s men had to settle for the Europa League after finishing fifth in the Premier League.

Brighton, meanwhile, will be playing in Europe for the first time in the club’s history.

Similar to the English sides in the Champions League, Liverpool and Brighton will go straight into the group stage.

West Ham beat Fiorentina in the 2023/23 Europa Conference League final to also seal a place in the Europa League this season.

The Hammers will join Liverpool and Brighton in the Europa League group stage.

Europa Conference League

Aston Villa secured Europa Conference League football after finishing seventh in the Premier League.

Unai Emery’s men will have to play a qualifying round to book their place in the group stages of the competition. They will face either Scottish side Hibernian or Luzern.

Villa will be returning to action in Europe for the first time in 13 years.
