The curtain has only just come down on the Premier League season and attention is already turning to the frenzied activity set to take place in the summer transfer window.

A total of £1.9billion was spent by the 20 Premier League clubs last summer – obliterating the previous record – before a further £815million was splashed out during the winter sales.

Chelsea were the big spenders over the course of this season, dishing out around £585million on 16 new players since Todd Boehly’s takeover last year, but that hardly helped as the Blues cycled through three managers on their way to a bottom-half finish.

When does the 2023 summer transfer window open and close?

The 2023 summer transfer window will open for business on Wednesday, June 14.

A key part of the T&Cs is that English clubs can only do deals with one another until Saturday, July 1 when international transfers are allowed.

From that point there will be two months of wheeling and dealing until it slams shut at 11pm on Friday, September 1.

Premier League bigwigs have also confirmed the 2024 January transfer window will open on Monday, January 1 and close at 11pm on Thursday, February 1.
