West Ham are bidding to win their first major trophy in 43 years when they face Italian outfit Fiorentina in the Europa Conference League final.
The Hammers may have had a season to forget in the Premier League, finishing just six points above the relegation zone in 14th, but their fine run in UEFA’s third-tier competition means they have a chance to sign off for the summer break on a high.
Fiorentina ended the Serie A campaign in flying form to finish eighth and this will be their second cup final of a busy year after losing to Inter in the Coppa Italia last month.
Despite being a meeting between a pair of big clubs from two of the continent’s top leagues, just 19,370 people are set to squeeze into the Fortuna Arena in Prague, Czech Republic.
As well as a snazzy trophy – lifted by Roma in last year’s inaugural final – there is a place in next season’s Europa League on the line. Woof!
