Manchester United travel to the Nou Camp for the first leg of their tasty Europa League play-off tie with Barcelona.
The two giants of European football normally conduct their business in the Champions League but they find themselves playing for a place in the Europa League knockout phase proper.
Erik ten Hag’s team could only finish second in Group E – the winners bypass this stage of the competition – but they make the trip in good nick and with a deadly attacking threat courtesy of Marcus Rashford.
Barcelona dropped into the Europa League after finishing third in Champions League Group C but they are also bang in form after winning their last eight games in all competitions.
Arguably United’s greatest night on the continent took place at the Nou Camp when Teddy Sheringham and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer struck at the death to secure a famous win over Bayern Munich in the Champions League final in 1999. A similar scoreline tonight would have them in pole position for next week’s return fixture.

Barcelona v Man Utd prediction
Thommo: Who would have thought Barcelona and Manchester United would be meeting in the Europa League on a Thursday night. Surely it’ll never happen again, but it’s a great game, isn’t it?
Two wonderful sides, Manchester United are playing so well and won 2-0 away at Leeds in a really hostile atmosphere on Sunday. Marcus Rashford has scored 21 goals this season, he’s having a phenomenal time and he’s done me well in many of my bets this season.
What about Barcelona? They’re absolutely flying in La Liga and are unbeaten in 12 in all competitions since the restart after the World Cup. I do think there will be goals in it but I do think it’s hard to separate these two.
I’m going for 2-2 in this game and I think it’s going to be a great watch. Robert Lewandowski and Rashford are two brilliant forwards in great form but if I was to go for one it would be Rashford to Score Anytime.
