A Range Rover belonging to striker Peter Odemwingie has been spotted outside Nottingham Forest’s City Ground.
It’s understood the former West Brom frontman is trying to force through a deadline day move to the Premier League strugglers.
Eyewitnesses claim Odemwingie was circling the stadium while screaming ‘show me the money’ at the top of his lungs.
NEW TO PADDY POWER NEWS?
The former Nigerian international said an emotional goodbye to his Aldi co-workers this morning before heading along the M1 in his Land Rover.
Speaking to Paddy Power News through the 4×4 window, Odemwingie said, “I heard Forest are offering contracts to everyone who owns a pair of football boots.
I thought I’d drive to Nottingham and chance my arm, you know?
“I’d like to thank all my colleagues and our loyal customers at Aldi but it’s time for a fresh challenge.
“Forest are my boyhood club and I’ve watched Kevin Costner’s Robin Hood about six times, so this is a dream come true for me.”
However, the deal hit a snag when the 41-year-old was denied entry after it emerged his name did not appear on chairman Evangelos Marinakis’ 1000-man transfer shortlist.
“Jonjo Shelvey, Felipe, Angelo Gabriel, Keylor Navas… Nah, you’re not on the list, mate,” Forest boss Steve Cooper told Odemwingie while scanning down all the names on his clipboard.
“There’s another club down the road might let you in,” said Cooper, pointing in the direction of Notts County’s Meadow Lane.
Meanwhile, ex-Premier League manager Harry Redknapp is refusing to leave his car until 11pm this evening, according to his family.
The former West Ham and Tottenham boss vowed to only communicate with friends and family members via the driver side window of his SUV until the current transfer window closes.
“Will I be coming in for me tea at 5pm? I dunno, it’s all in the hands of me agent now, innit?” Redknapp told PP News, before rolling up his window.
