Breaking: Glazer family launch Liverpool takeover bid

It's like Gabriel Heinze all over again... kinda

The Glazer family have made an audacious bid to buy Liverpool FC, Paddy Power News can exclusively reveal.

It follows their decision to part ways with Manchester United where they spent 17-years successfully destroying the club.

Liverpool owners Fenway Sports Group announced two weeks ago they would be open to selling the Anfield outfit which alerted the Glazers to the possibility of a shock takeover bid.

It’s understood the Florida-based family have offered around £4.5 billion worth of bank loans for the Merseyside club, the majority of which would be secured against the club’s assets and incurring interest payments of over £350 million per annum.

Their first act as new owners would be to appoint Ed Woodward as the club’s chief executive and give him complete autonomy over any future transfer dealings.

‘Turning Manchester United into a debt-addled Europa League side has been totally cool but now it’s time for a fresh challenge’, Joel Glazer told Paddy Power News.

‘Over the past 5-years, Liverpool have consistently challenged for top honours both home and abroad. They have a world class coach in Jurgen Klopp and some of the best players in Europe. It feels like the perfect time to completely derail all that’.

‘We can’t wait to get started. You should never walk all by yourself’.

However, as news of the Glazers’ takeover bid broke, fans gathered outside Anfield to protest.

‘Apart from match tickets, merchandise and a monthly subscription to the club’s own TV channel -the Glazers will not see another penny from me’, said one disaffected Liverpool supporter.

‘We want the Glazers out’, he chanted, while unfurling a Norwich City scarf.

Meanwhile, free agent Cristiano Ronaldo has agreed to buy Manchester United less than 24-hours after being sacked by the club.

It’s understood the Portuguese will hand himself the No7 shirt, the captaincy and play himself up front in every game alongside Cristiano Jr.

However, Dave the Carrington chef was told his services were no longer required. Dave is expected to do a tell-all interview with Piers Morgan regarding the sacking in a two-part Talk TV exclusive.
