Gareth Southgate has revealed England’s World Cup 2022 squad – and the new people’s champion, James Maddison, has made the cut!

Leicester’s midfield maestro has been one of the Premier League’s standout stars in the current campaign but a lengthy exile from the Three Lions camp had fans fearing he would be left to wallow on his sofa over the winter.

Newcastle hotshot Callum Wilson has also been rewarded for his exploits this term with a place on the plane to Qatar at the expense of Tammy Abraham and Ivan Toney.

Manchester City pair Kyle Walker and Kalvin Phillips have also been included despite missing a number of matches in recent weeks through injury. Chelsea rising star Conor Gallagher is another surprise addition to the party.

A whole host of England regulars from the previous World Cup and Euros campaigns are once again named such as Jordan Pickford, John Stones, Harry Maguire and Harry Kane.
