But it was all going so well

Chelsea are searching for a new manager despite a stunning start to their Europa League campaign in Zagreb on Tuesday night.

Thomas Tuchel was relieved of his duties by Blues owner Todd Boehly despite a 1-0 loss to the Croatian side which has them firmly on course for a third-place finish in Group E.

The 49-year-old masterminded the defeat in Chelsea’s Champions League opener with assistance from Dinamo Zagreb’s player-of-the match Hakim Ziyech

And the Moroccan was only too eager to take credit for his incredible display in his post-match interview.

‘Should’ve let me sign for Ajax, lads. That’s all I’m saying’, shrugged the Moroccan.

And Sean Dyche has been spotted outside Stamford Bridge following the sacking of the Chelsea boss.

Onlookers claim the 51-year-old was chugging from a can of lager and scribbling his CV on a cigarette packet whilst outside the West London ground.

Dyche was sacked by Burnley in April despite maintaining the Turf Moor outfit’s Premier League status for 10 years on a budget of 400 quid and 1000 Nectar points.

‘I’m throwing my Burberry cap in the ring for the Chelsea job’, Dyche told Paddy Power News before gargling some gravel.

‘I’ll be having none of this wing-back b*llocks. It’s straight up 4-4-f**king-2 GM Vauxhall Dyche-ball at the Bridge, baby’.

‘The German [Tuchel] spent 50 million quid on Raheem Sterling when Andy Carroll was on a free? Should’ve had his P45 for that one alone,’ Dyche opined.

There have also been unconfirmed reports of a man wearing Groucho glasses and referring to himself as ‘Lank Frampard’ submitting a CV for consideration within minutes of Tuchel’s dismissal.

However, with developments suggesting Brighton boss Graham Potter could take the job, a caretaker might be required and Chelsea owner Todd Boehly is expected to take up the role until a permanent appointment can be made.

NEW TO PADDY POWER NEWS?

The 48-year-old is said to be “eager” to combine managing duties with his existing roles as CEO, physio, tea lady and mascot.

“It’ll be a great honour to appoint myself as Chelsea boss”, Boehly is reported to have told close associates.

“Everyone else has had a shot at it, so I thought why not?

“Giving Thomas £300m to spend then sacking him 7 games into the season was always part of the strategy.

“And I’m looking forward to sacking myself after my first poor run of results”.
