Liverpool got their mojo back with a 9-0 thrashing of Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon – and the result left some of their fans quids in.
The Reds had made a stuttering start to the campaign with draws at Fulham and home to Crystal Palace before losing 2-1 at rivals Manchester United last Monday.
But that poor set of results didn’t put off some of their supporters who backed the Merseysiders to get the job done in style against newly-promoted Bournemouth.
And that’s just what Jurgen Klopp’s side did as Luis Diaz (two), Harvey Elliot, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Roberto Firmino (two), Virgil van Dijk, a Chris Mepham own-goal and Fabio Carvalho got on the scoresheet in a joint Premier League-record 9-0 victory.

When Diaz headed in the ninth goal of the afternoon on 85 minutes those who had backed Liverpool to strike nine must have been feeling nervous such was the surpriority they were showing at Anfield.
But fortunately for the four Paddy Power punters who fancied them to hit nine against the Cherries despite their underwhelming displays so far, were left rewarded at odds of 200/1 when the final whistle was blown, with one of the four customers returning just over £1k from a £5 stake on the 9-0 correct score.
Just a day later Celtic decided to follow suit and duly banged home nine themselves away to struggling Dundee United on Sunday lunchtime.
Clearly Bhoys fans were feeling more optimistic than those from south of the border with 15 punters across Paddy’s website and shops backing their side to bang in the goals in a 9-0 victory at Tannadice.
They duly turned on the style with Kyogo Furuhashi (hat-trick), Jota, Liel Abada (hat-trick), Josip Juranovic and Carl Starfelt grabbing the goals and bringing home the bacon for our punters.
At the same odds of 200/1, this time there were two punters who staked £5 and landed a £1000 payout, and another who decided to cash-out their £5 punt before full-time as the goals rained down in Dundee.
Nice punting, folks!
