After five years, the UEFA Women’s Euros is back, with the 2022 edition being held in England. The path to the final starts at Old Trafford when England host Austria on Wednesday 6th July.
Ahead of the tournament, our trading team have scoured the continent to profile each of the 16 teams in the competition, picking out a cheeky best bet for most of the teams in action to boot.
Group A
Hosts England have been drawn against six-time Champions League winner Ada Hegerberg’s Norway, UEFA’s 12th ranked team Austria, and tournament newcomers Northern Ireland.
Pre-tournament favourites Spain find themselves in a tricky group with eight-time winners Germany, 2017 runners-up Denmark, and fellow Scandinavian side Finland, in their first major tournament since 2009.
Group C sees holders Netherlands take on Sweden, the second best side in FIFA’s World Rankings, as well as big outsiders Switzerland and Portugal who are both comfortably third and fourth favourites in this quadruple.
The final group sees World Cup quarter-finalists France look to progress as they play an Italy side coming in at huge 40/1 tournament winner odds, a Belgium team playing in their second ever major tournament and a potential banana skin in Iceland.
