Kalvin Phillips to Man City: ‘£45m is only enough for his topknot’ claims Leeds fan

You can't put a price on him - or his barnet

With reports suggesting Kalvin Phillips is on the verge of joining Premier League champions Man City, a furious Leeds fan has had his say on the price tag, suggesting £45m is only enough for the player’s “topknot”.

Despite the deal being as good as confirmed between the clubs, 18-year-old Leeds die-hard Radebe Smith is understood to have posted some hairdressing scissors to Phillips’ home address, with a note demanding his cut off his topknot and post it directly to Pep Guardiola in exchange for £45m.

NEW TO PADDY POWER NEWS?

“Phillips is the best central midfielder in the world and worth at least £600m – £45m gets you his topknot and that’s it.

“Pay £555m and get the rest of him. City better pay up or move their attention to Declan Rice, Jude Bellingham or whoever United f**k up trying to sign.

Smith went on to explain how much the 26-year-old midfielder means to the club.

“My great grandad was Leeds, my grandad is Leeds, my dad is Leeds, I’m Leeds and my 2-year-old son BamBam is Leeds, and we can tell you there’s never been a player like Kalvin. He’s one of our own.

“Same goes for Raphinha who is easily a £350m player. If Barcelona want him, they need to sell De Jong five-times over – £60m will get his left nut and nothing else. I’ve sent him some scissors too.”

With these comments making news in Manchester, a source close to City boss Pep Guardiola had this to say to Paddy Power News.

“The young Leeds supporter in question isn’t entirely wrong as the deal we’ve struck is £600m in total, we are just paying it in instalments.

“We expect a topknot to arrive in the post any day now.

“Hopefully Kalvin will jump on a train and make his way to Manchester Piccadilly station where our representatives will pick him up and drive him directly to our home in Stockport where we conduct all of our official business” concluded the club source.

Other news emerging from Leeds United surrounds club boss Jesse Marsch, who is understood to have contacted Andres Clavijo, best known for his role as a translator to previous manager Marcelo Bielsa.

It is believed Marsch will offer Clavijo a role in the club canteen, suggesting the players and staff miss his calming presence.

“He’s a great lad around the dressing room and we believe, given enough time, he can even interpret what the f**k was happening in Luke Ayling’s head when he tried that cartwheel,” a source within Elland Road said.

“He’s also got a wand of a left foot, which should come in handy when we’re starting him next season cos we’ve sold all our best players,”
