Celtic to celebrate Frankfurt Europa League victory with open-top bus parade

Huge result for Celtic

Celtic are in talks with Glasgow City Council over an open-top bus parade to celebrate Eintracht Frankfurt winning the Europa League, Paddy Power News understands.

Hoops bosses want to roll out the red carpet for the German club after they pulled-off one of the greatest results in Celtic’s 134-year history.

Frankfurt emerged from Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium with the Europa League trophy after a 5-4 penalty shootout victory over Rangers.

Gers midfielder Aaron Ramsey showed solidarity with his former Arsenal teammates following their midweek Champions League implosion by missing the decisive spot-kick.

Celtic chiefs have confirmed that discussions over a victory parade are well underway.

‘This is one of the proudest moments in the history of Celtic Football Club’, a spokesperson on behalf of the club told Paddy Power News.

‘Some would argue it’s a greater achievement than ten-in-a-row’.

‘It’s only right we should get to show off this trophy to our fans who were put through the bloody wringer last night’.

‘The Frankfurt boys can join the celebrations too, if they like. They played their part in this victory, I guess?’

Meanwhile, former Celtic star Chris Sutton woke up this morning speaking with a German accent.

His newfound intonation has baffled his BT Sport colleagues as well as doctors.

‘Ja, it’s very schtrange’, the 49-year-old told Paddy Power News.

‘I vatched zee Rangers game, drank a few steins of Erdinger Weissbier und vent to bed’.

‘Und ven I voke up zis morning I schtarted schpeaking zis vay’.

When asked if there was a direct correlation between his new accent and Rangers’ Europa League Final defeat to a German side, the pundit said:

‘Does ein Teddy Bear schit in zee voods?’
