Royal Rumble: Roy Hodgson v Harry the Hornet clash added to undercard line-up

There's a bit of a buzz about this

Comments

A ‘Tables, Ladders & Chairs’ match between new Watford boss Roy Hodgson and club mascot Harry the Hornet has been added to this year’s Royal Rumble undercard line-up at the last minute.

Hodgson, 74, renowned for his in-ring acrobatics, will square-off against fellow high-flyer ‘The Hornet’ hoping to settle a feud stretching back 6-years.

The former England boss labelled the mascot ‘a disgrace’ for mocking winger Wilfried Zaha when Harry provoked the Ivory Coast international by diving in front of him.

Hodgson turned ‘heel’ following his remarks about fan favourite Harry but is hoping to win the crowd over on Saturday.

‘I will take Harry the Hornet down Know Your Role Boulevard which is on the corner of Jabroni Drive – formerly Vicarage Road – and check him directly into the SmackDown Hotel’, the former Inter Milan coach told Paddy Power News.

‘I’m going to kick his roody-poo candy ass, if you smell what the Roy is cooking?’, he added.

Meanwhile, Everton are still planning a WWE-style Royal Rumble match at Goodison Park involving 30 managerial candidates to decide their next boss despite rumours of a move for Frank Lampard swirling,Paddy Power News can reveal.

It’s understood indecisive Toffees owner Farhad Moshiri views the over-the-top-rope spectacular as the most logical way to solve the club’s current managerial vacancy.

The pay-per-view event will be available to watch on WWE Network at 1am on Sunday morning.

And caretaker-manager Duncan Ferguson will be the first entrant to the ring with Portuguese interviewee Vitor Pereira joining him at number 2.

Ferguson, who goes by the ring-name ‘Duncan Disorderly’, told Paddy Power News he’s looking forward to the bout.

‘Ah cannae wait, man’.

‘What ye goin’ tae dae brother, when the lairgest arms in the world and Duncanmania run wild oan ye?’, growled the 50-year-old while flexing his oily 24-inch pythons.

Other participants in the Rumble will include Wayne Rooney, Sam Allardyce, Steve Bruce, Alan Pardew, Tony Bellew, Sylvester Stallone, Terry Funk and Bushwhacker Luke.

And we expect Frank Lampard to be the 30th entrant, sneaking from under the ring to blindside Ferguson with a fortuitously placed and suspiciously flimsy-looking trashcan just as the Scot looks set to win the contest.
