Breaking News: Mike Dean revealed as I’m A Celebrity late arrival

When you think 'celebrity', you think Mike Dean

A-list referee Mike Dean is hoping to further enhance his brand with an appearance on ITV’s hit reality show I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here, Paddy Power News can exclusively reveal.

Dean, star of Monday night’s Premier League clash between Everton and Arsenal, announced his entrance as a late arrival to the I’m A Celeb camp on his Instagram account this morning.

‘Hey all you Little Deansters, I just wanted to let you know I’ll be appearing on I’m A Celeb’, the 53-year-old told his 17 followers.

‘For those of you who aren’t aware, the only criteria for participating on the show is being a celebrity. I am a celebrity; therefore, I can appear on the show’.

‘I am looking forward to meeting all my new campmates, particularly David Ginola, whom I will be booking for simulation immediately upon arrival’.

‘I hope I can count on all the Little Deansters around the Wirral to vote for me. Me, me, me, me, me’.

Dean shot to stardom in 2000 when he first appeared as a referee in the Premier League and has gone on to star in over 500 games since then.

A pioneer of the no-look booking, Dean is credited with bringing some panache to the art of dishing out cards willy-nilly.

His performance during Tottenham’s Premier League clash with Aston Villa at White Hart Lane in 2015, a game in which he celebrated a goal after playing an advantage, will live long in the memory.

I’m A Celeb’s Ant and Dec are eagerly anticipating the official’s grand entrance and expect viewers to witness some ‘vintage Dean’ in Gwrych Castle.

Asked if they were looking forward to see Dean chomping on a bull’s testicle during a Bush Tucker Trial, the Geordie duo told Paddy Power News:

‘Newcastle fans have had to swallow worse than that from Mike over the past 20-years’.
