It wouldn’t be a normal week without a punter taking us to the cleaners and that happened again on Saturday September 4 as one lucky punter managed to turn a £1 acca into a staggering £2,272 after their fabulous footie seven-fold landed.
NEW TO PADDY POWER?
Our winner – who hails from Bangor – somehow predicted Over 3.5 Goals in seven National League games on Saturday and the stunning bet came in at huge odds of 2,271/1. Let’s tell you how it landed.
Despite most people on our islands turning their attention from the Premier League to international football, for our lucky punter, it was all eyes were on the National League. And there must have been something in the air, as it was goals galore!
Grimsby v Barnet, Eastleigh v Kings Lynn, Maidenhead v Torquay, Altrincham v Dover and Notts Co v Aldershot were all on the betslip, with all these games amazingly finishing with Over 4.5 Goals. There were even two 4-3 scorelines in there on Saturday! Maybe our punter was kicking himself he didn’t back over 6.5 Goals…
Attention then turned to Dag and Red v Wealdstone and Chesterfield v Bromley.
Top of the league Dag and Red welcomed the struggling Wealdstone and the visitors took a surprise 2-1 lead in the 75th minute through Dennon Lewis. Luckily for our punter, George Saunders of The Daggers equalised just 10 minutes before the end to tick off another leg on the betslip.
That left just one game remaining between our soon-to-be Hall of Famer and £2,272. Chesterfield v Bromley saw second face off against 15th. Chesterfield looked set to secure all three points after going 2-1 up in the 72nd minute through Manny Okeleke.
That left our customer 18 minutes, plus stoppage time, for there to be another goal at the Technique Stadium Then, in the 96th minute, Bromley were awarded a penalty. It all came down to whether Michael Cheek could convert from 12 yards out. The 29-year-old striker had no issues and fired home, much to the delight of our victor!
That meant our lucky punter scooped the £2,272 prize pot. So, all we can do is welcome yet another lucky winner to our Punting Hall Of Fame!
