A spy donning a green jacket, green hat and green binoculars was spotted as fans returned to Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening during the Chelsea v Leeds United Premier League match. Of course, behind the stunt, which marks almost two years since the famous ‘Spygate’ moment – when Marcelo Bielsa’s coaching staff were caught spying on Frank Lampard’s Derby County at their training ground.

Unfortunately for Bielsa and Leeds, the information he gathered didn’t do the Whites any good as Chelsea ran out easy 3-1 victors on the night. The plan looked to be going perfectly when Patrick Bamford gave Leeds the lead just three minutes in, but maybe Bielsa’s brigade need to spy a littler harder as goals from Olivier Giroud, Kurt Zouma and Christian Pulisic sent the plucky promoted side to their fifth league defeat of the season.

Spygate has been rumbling on for almost two years, and we’ve been waiting almost as long as the Leeds fans have for Bielsa to meet Lampard once again. It wouldn’t be right to have this managerial match-up without someone spying on it though!
Our man on the ground on Saturday evening confirmed that, after rumours of an abduction, he did spot Kepa Arrizabalaga on the Chelsea bench, unharmed.
