Following their 3-0 spanking by Aston Villa it has been revealed that outcast Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil has offered to pay a portion of Gooners boss Mikel Arteta’s wages if Arsenal keep playing this badly.
The German international bailed out their Gunnersaurus mascot last month after he was let go by the London club, and it’s now emerged that he’s willing to stump up the gaffer’s salary too because the team’s playing so bad it makes Ozil look like Pele.
A source close to the midfielder confirmed his plan to keep Arteta at the club until at least February, when he can be added to the London club’s Europa League squad – Ozil was left out of the Gunners’ squads for both the Premier League and Europa League this season by Arteta, but there are “no hard feelings” between the player and manager.
“No, it’s great for Mesut. He hasn’t been so popular with the Arsenal supporters since he signed that £350,000-a-week extension back in 2018 and then downed tools.
“He looks better with every loss – which isn’t difficult considering how sh*te he’s played in the two-years since signed the extension.”
The Gunners have scored just one goal – a penalty – in their last four league games and questions are being asked about their lack of creativity and the manager’s treatment of the club’s top-earner.

“At least with Ozil, when he lost the ball he was usually trying to do something clever,” @BoredAFTV moaned on Twitter during the Villa defeat.
“And he’d sulk around not even pretending to give a toss. Now we’ve Willian running about like David Luiz’s sh*t Brazilian cousin and missing sitters instead.”
“And Aubameyang on the wing. Maybe we should try him at full-back, he’ll be as much use there,” whined @SmudgersNobblyKnees, as the Gabonese centre-forward (CENTRE-forward) begins his inevitable decline to Ozil-like status in 18 months time having recently inked a lucrative contract extension of his own.
“Yeah, Ozil could’ve made the difference tonight. 3-1 to the Villa sounds about right,” @WengerVidiVici added.
“It’s like Tony Pulis with Lego hair took over the team.”
“If we’re going to lose embarrassingly – and we definitely are – we can do it the right way.”
And reports from close to the out-of-favour midfielder suggest that he’s optimistic that Arsenal’s putrid play under the Spanish gaffer can only make him look more attractive to new clubs in 2021 when his contract expires.
“There’s already been contact from Ed Woodward,” our source confirmed. “But he’ll only do a deal at the right price. He’s started the bidding at £300k, but can add incentives for pouts-per-game, especially once Pogba’s cleared off.”
