Fulham to win
Two of the favourites to go down meet at Craven Cottage at 5:30pm on Monday and both teams are yet to win this season. Even though West Brom have more points banked so far, I believe Fulham are better equipped to win this game. Since the signings of Ademola Lookman (from RB Leipzig) and Ruben Loftus-Cheek (from Chelsea), they’ve looked a lot more solid in their Premier League games.
The Cottagers were very unlucky not to beat Sheffield United the other week. They created a lot of chances at Bramall Lane, but their striker Aleksandar Mitrovic just had one of those annoying off days. They conceded early against Crystal Palace last weekend and Roy Hodgson’s side are hard to break down when they are protecting a lead. It’s hugely important for Scott Parker’s outfit that they don’t let one in early again on Monday.
However, I haven’t seen enough from West Brom to believe they can get into any kind of lead here and creating chances has been a big problem for The Baggies. They’ve brought in Karlan Grant from Huddersfield to help address those issues and they have two good wingers in Grady Diangana and Matheus Pereira, but their central midfield looks a bit weak. Slaven Bilic’s men struggle to keep the ball when transitioning from defence into attack, and there’s been more from Fulham in recent weeks to suggest that they can beat West Brom here.
Ademola Lookman to score first
Aleksandar Mitrovic is top of this market for obvious reasons, but he hasn’t quite brought his Championship goalscoring form to the Premier League as yet. So, there is value in backing Ademola Lookman to net first.
He’s currently more than three times the price of Mitrovic in the market and he also grabbed a wonderful goal for Fulham in that Sheffield United game we mentioned above. Lookman is averaging around four shots per 90 minutes and that’s why he should be in your betslip for this one.
