Football Tips: Phil Thompson’s 6/1 NAP and tasty treble for Saturday

Thommo's back with a bagful of tips for Saturday's Premier League action.

The great Phil Thompson has run the rule over this Saturday’s big games in the Premier League to offer Paddy’s punters some top insight.

Sheffield United v Man City gets the Thommo treatment, as does Liverpool v West Ham. The Kop idol has also offered up his NAP of the day and a tempting treble.

12.30pm: Sheff United v Man City – Man City to win 2-0

There is always hope for Sheffield United. It’s strange to see them sitting there near the bottom of the Premier League. They’ve always been in games, but is it second season syndrome? Are they being found out with their overlapping centre-backs – when they play three at the back they’re very fluent but are they being found out? Liverpool just did enough last week – it was not a great performance and Sheffield United did go ahead.

They’re not a bad team but they’re not finding enough. Lys Mousset and Oli McBurnie only scored six goals in the Premier League last year, and they were the leading goal scorers. So, they don’t score enough and teams are starting to find a way through them to find ways to beat them.

I think City, even without Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus, will have enough. I’m going to go for Manchester City after a fantastic win in midweek. They’ll have been disappointed last time out at West Ham but it was a fantastic win in midweek because Marseille is difficult away from home. I think Man City will win 2-0.

3pm: Burnley v Chelsea: Chelsea to win

I’m going to go for Chelsea to win at Burnley. I think Chelsea are coming into that bit of form, their players are starting to find their feet. They’ve got all sorts of goals in them and I think their movement might do something against Burnley.

5.30pm: Liverpool v West Ham United – Liverpool to Win & BTTS

West Ham are having a big run and they’re screaming that David Moyes is going to be the saviour and they should give him a bigger and better contract! I think Moyes is a really good manager, but West Ham do have times where they are up then they are down.

I think coming to Anfield, where Liverpool are 62 games unbeaten, says a lot about the expected result in this game. But I don’t think it is going to be easy. I do think Liverpool will run out winners once they sort out the central defence and wh is going to play. I am fit for this week, so there is a chance! Hopefully this will be a good game, but I do see Liverpool winning.

I think this one’s going to be very tight and West Ham will be feeling very confident. Liverpool to win 2-1 but West Ham will score so Liverpool to Win and Both Teams To Score.

Saturday Treble: Chelsea, Man City & Liverpool to win

Based on all of the above, for my treble this Saturday it’s got to be Chelsea, Manchester City… AND Liverpool!

Saturday NAP – Manchester City to Win 2-0

Sheffield United don’t score a lot of goals, and although Manchester City are not great defensively I do see City winning this game 2-0. That is going to be my NAP of the day.

Thommo’s Tips

Sheff United v Man City: Man City to win 2-0 (NAP)
Liverpool v West Ham: Liverpool to Win and BTTS
