Paddy’s football ambassador Phil Thompson has fired up the Zoom app once again to deliver the first of his top tips for the weekend’s Premier League action to the good guys and girls from PPTV.
Wolves and Crystal Palace get us up and running on Friday night at Molineux at 8pm and Thommo’s got a confident score prediction and goal scorer.
Palace and Wolves are two teams with identical records, they’ve both won three, drawn one and lost two. You’re looking at them sitting there in eighth and ninth positions and I think there’s a chasm between the two of them. I think Wolves are, for me, a banker for this one. I see them scoring a couple of goals.
Palace, the oldest squad in the Premier League, and I think at this early stage coming into the seventh round, I think Wolves are going to have too much for them. I really enjoy watching Wolves and I just think Palace are fortunate to be where they are.
Friday 8pm: Wolves v Crystal Palace BT Sport Box Office
Wilfried Zaha is Palace’s go-to man whenever they need something but since that Man United game I don’t know what’s happened to them. They took Manchester United apart at Old Trafford. It’s not been the same since. They’ve struggled for goals. For me, there’s just something missing with them at the moment.
But that’s always been the case. They had a great defence last season which kept them in the league but they’ve just been looking a bit more vulnerable this year.
THOMMO’S TIPS:I do think Wolves will win this game 2-0. I tipped up Raul Jimenez to Score Anytimelast weekend and he did it so I’m sticking with him again this weekend. I think he’s a wonderful player. Wolves fans won’t like me for this, but I do think he could do it not for just one of the big Premier League clubs, but one of the top European clubs as well.
