Brighton to win
You would have to agree with the pricing here that sees Brighton as favourites to beat West Brom in Monday’s earlier kick-off. It’s not a position Brighton normally find themselves in (in terms of the betting) and they will have no home fans to help them at the Amex Stadium either. Those facts should tell you everything you need to know on how the trading team feels about the chances of these two teams in this one.
West Brom have had a habit of shooting themselves in the foot this season. Just look at the Chelsea game, where they threw away a three-goal lead, and the Everton match, where Kieran Gibbs picked up the silliest of red cards, for examples of that.
Brighton, on the other hand, did brilliantly to bring in Graham Potter and he’s on the verge of taking them to the next level.
What they seem to lack is a clinical striker to finish off the great process going on behind him and sometimes The Seagulls are just guilty of taking too many touches in the box. They could really do with a few more one-touch finishes from Neal Maupay, and he needs to work on his positioning when the chances arise. If he can kick on and justify the big fee they paid to Brentford for him, then you could see Brighton fly up the table.

Neal Maupay to score anytime
It may have sounded like we were slagging off Maupay above, but he is still Brighton’s best chance of a goal against West Brom and he is also their penalty taker. Against a team that are more open like Southampton or Aston Villa then someone like Leandro Trossard could be a danger getting in behind.
But, with West Brom likely to operate with a packed defence, it’s more likely to be a striker that picks up the pieces in the box and we’re going to with Neal Maupay to find the net anytime.
