Forget Thomas Partey, James Rodriguez and Gareth Bale. None of them can hold a candle to the signing of the summer – Phil Thompson checking in at Paddy Tower. And, fresh off his top tips for Saturday’s Premier League games, he’s back for more on Sunday with two best bets and a tasty treble.
There are some big match-ups in this weekend full of derbies, with Crystal Palace against Brighton and West Ham travelling to Tottenham. But fear not, our man for the big occasion has delivered his best bets for both of those monster grudge clashes on Sunday in the Premier League.
You looked at Brighton against Manchester United and they were quite extraordinary, hitting the post five times and still losing. It was a great performance and then they really disappointed me at Goodison Park against Everton where they lost 4-2 last time.
I thought they would have a lot more in them and go closer to Everton but it didn’t materialise. This is a hard one to call because you just don’t know what you’re going to get with Palace. They can be good on the day and Wilfried Zaha can be a match-winner, but then he can be anonymous too.
THOMMO’s TIP:For this game, I think there will be goals in it because Brighton have players who can score, like we saw in that game against Man United, so I’m going to go for a draw in this one – 2-2 – as there’s been plenty of goals. The Premier League has been awash with goals and I think this one will be just the same.
This is another tricky tie because if you go back a couple of weeks ago, you’d have probably been thinking, ‘Yeah, Spurs might just edge it. West Ham are so flaky!’ But West Ham’s recent results have been phenomenal.
Spurs’ win at Manchester United was quite extraordinary but when you look at West Ham beating Leicester after Leicester had just trounced Manchester City – this Premier League, you just don’t know what you’re getting at the moment!
THOMMO’s TIP:It is hard to call but I don’t think West Ham can do it again, I really don’t. So, I’m going to tip up Spurs in this one. I think it will be tight. West Ham do turn up against the big boys and that does worry me, but I’m going fora 2-1 scoreline in Spurs’ favour.
This is a treble with a twist but I do fancy this one. It’s goal scorers rather than results. I don’t know what odds we’re getting here but you know who I’m going to go for!
For the Leicester game I’m going to go withJamie Vardy, for the Spurs game I’m going to go for Harry Kane and Jordan Ayew, I do like him for Palace, I just wish he’s stay in the box a bit more, but I’m tipping him to score this weekend as well.
