Football Tips: 3 you have to see as Rangers tipped to run riot against Ross County

Should be a stroll in the park for Rangers, this.

Steven Gerrard Rangers

Rangers (-2)

Rangers will be bouncing after a fantastic win over Galatasaray in the Europa League play-offs and will look to head into the international break on top of the Scottish Premiership, albeit having played a game more than Celtic. They should face no problems at home to Ross County on Sunday.

Steven Gerrard’s side boast a flawless record at Ibrox this season, winning all four games by at least two goals without conceding a single goal.

That record should persevere for at least another game. They face a Ross County side that has won just once in their last six games – against a struggling St. Johnstone – and picked up just four points from the last 18.

These are the games that Rangers need to win, and win well, if they are to seriously challenge Celtic for the league title this season so we’re on Rangers (-2) here.

James Tavernier to score anytime

Rangers captain James Tavernier has been in excellent form of late, scoring more goals than any other player in the squad over the last six games. An impressive feat for a right back.

His tally of six goals in his last six games has come at a welcome time for Rangers, helping to guide the league leaders through a difficult period in the league and also through their Europa League qualifying campaign.

The goals come at a time when new signing Kemar Roofe continues to struggle with injury and when Alfredo Morelos’ goals have dried up somewhat.

As Rangers’ penalty taker, Tavernier is even more likely to end up on the scoresheet and Rangers have been getting a lot of penalties in recent weeks with three of his six goals coming from the spot.

Playing against a Ross County side that will be camped in their own box, there is an excellent chance that Rangers will win a penalty on Sunday and, even if they don’t, Tavernier has proved himself an adept goalscorer from other areas.

Rangers to win both halves

Rangers are such a sure thing that there is little value at all in markets like halftime/fulltime or both team to score, but they are good value to win both halves on Sunday.

They have been ruthless at home this season, scoring 12 and conceding none, and they have won seven of the eight halves they played at Ibrox this season.

They are far better than Ross County and will not let up on Sunday considering goal difference could be a crucial factor come the season’s end.

With Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos somewhat out of touch in front of goal, they will be desperate to improve their respective records as soon as possible and that should ensure a Rangers win in each half. Steven Gerrard’s men could run riot.
