Football tips: Check out our super Scottish footy 50/1 acca for Friday’s action

There's a feast of footy this Friday in the SPFL.

Hibernian v Hamilton – Hibernian to win (-1)

Hibs may have suffered a heavy defeat at Celtic Park last weekend, but they should get back on the horse on Friday night. Comprehensive defeats at the home of the perennial Scottish Premiership champions are par for the course in Scotland, after all, and there was nothing exactly surprising about the result.

The fact that Neil Lennon claimed that Celtic’s performance was one of the finest performance during his time at the club is a testament to how good Hibs have been this season. They should pick up an easy three points on Friday. Hamilton are undoubtedly one of the worst sides in the division and only escape being the league’s basement club by virtue of goal difference.

They picked up their first home point of the season after they salvaged a late draw at home to newly-promoted Dundee United last week, but the Scottish Premiership new boys had passed up several glorious opportunities to kill the game off beforehand.

This should be an emphatic home win.

Dundee United v Livingston – Draw

Things are starting to look very congested in the Scottish Premiership outside the top four. Only four points separate the remaining eight clubs who are leapfrogging one another on an increasingly frequent basis. That can happen again on Friday when Livingston take on Dundee United.

Livingston currently sit three points off sixth-placed Dundee but can overtake them with a win at Tannadice on Friday. Both sides have enjoyed a mixed start to life in the Premiership this year and they could cancel each other out.

Dundee United had an excellent start following their promotion last season, picking up seven points from their opening 12 games. They subsequently went on a three-game losing streak, conceding nine and scoring none. They have since steadied the ship, taking four points from their last six.

Livingston, on the other hand, were winless after five games but have still proved difficult to beat. Aside from a 4-1 hammering at home to Hibs, they have not lost by more than a goal this season and they gave Celtic an almighty scare at Celtic Park recently. They also drew at home to Rangers. Gary Holt’s side have won two of their last four and seem to be moving in an upward trajectory. They may fail to make it three wins from five on Friday, but they should avoid defeat.

Aberdeen v St. Mirren – Aberdeen to win (-1)

Aberdeen are one of the few clubs not caught up in the eight-team pile-up at the bottom of the table and they will have their sights set on third-place, which is easily within their reach.

They come up against a St. Mirren side that has not won in six and lost their last five league games and they should have absolutely no problem swatting them aside. The Dons are almost the complete antithesis of St. Mirren, winning five of their last six games in the Premiership and they should make it six out of seven on Friday night.

St. Mirren boast the worst goal difference in the division and that is unlikely to improve at Pittodrie.

Kilmarnock v Motherwell – Kilmarnock to win

Kilmarnock have an excellent opportunity to bolster their position as best of the bottom eight with a win against struggling Motherwell on Friday. The Well really are struggling and it’s difficult to put a finger on it. Supporters may point to their involvement in Europa League qualifiers, which has now ended, but that doesn’t really fly since they had failed to win any of their five league games before the start of their Europa League campaign.

Their performance at home to Rangers last week was worrying and a Kilmarnock side that has won two on the bounce and three of their last four should have too much for them.
