For Friday night’s European football Acca we’re taking a look at some fascinating clashes from the Netherlands, Germany’s Bundesliga as well as France’s Ligue 1 and Portugal’s Primeira Liga.
We’ve gone through the stats to find some trends and come up with a Four Fold Acca that could just get our weekend off to a mighty start.
Twente are so far unbeaten in the league, granted the Dutch Eredivisie is only two matchdays old, but they’ve taken four points from a possible six, beating Sittard on the opening day and drawing with Feyenoord away from home last week.
Groningen lost their opener at home to PSV but took the full spoils away to Den Haag last weekend.
Twente have won six of the last 10 clashes between the pair here with the away side winning just two. Two have ended as draws. Both Teams to Score occurred in seven of those, while Over 2.5 goals occurred in seven as well.
Overs is tempting at 11/10 but only one of the four matches played by both sides have seen Overs landing so far this season. Both are scoring goals and conceding goals so we’re going with Both Teams to Score.
Hertha have certainly started the season with their scoring boots on, thrashing Werder Bremen 1-4 away from home in the Bundesliga opener last week and losing 5-4 to Braunchweig in the DFB Pokal match a week before.
Frankfurt are unbeaten over their two matches, beating 1860 Munich in their cup match but could only manage a draw against newly-promoted Arminia Bielefeld.
Frankfurt pulled off a famous win here last season, beating the home side 1-4, after being 1-0 down at halftime. Honours have been fairly even over the last few encounters in Berlin with the home side winning three and Frankfurt winning two.
Overs landed in just two of those five, while BTTS occurred in two as well. Both Overs and BTTS are a little short for us and with the home side scoring goals for fun we’re going with Hertha to Win their opening home match of the season.
Lille are one of three unbeaten sides in Ligue 1, winning two and drawing two of their four league matches. Nantes have won one, drawn two and lost one so far.
The home side will be confident of taking all three points here as well as Nantes have only beaten them once over their 10 last visits in all competitions.
Neither team have exactly been scoring loads since the new season began, Lille have scored four over their four while Nantes have scored five.
Lille have a decent Clean Sheets record at home in the league though and, with that good home record against Nantes, we just have to side with Lille here.
Braga are massive favourites coming into this Primeira Liga clash, the sides have met seven times in all competitions over the last twenty years with the home side winning six and one ending as a draw.
Braga’s home record is impressive as well, of their 10 most recent home league matches they’ve lost just one while Clara have lost four, drawn three and won three.
The home side though don’t have a great Clean Sheets record and conceded 1.18 goals per home match last season while Santa Clara averaged just above a goal per game on the road.
The home side are massive favourites but Clara could well get a goal here so we’re backing Both Teams to Score at some healthy odds.
All four of these picks in a four-fold Acca will give you odds of around 14/1.
