Arsenal and Leicester have enjoyed excellent starts to the season, although they have yet to face opposition of any quality in the Premier League so far.
For Arsenal, six points against newly-promoted Fulham and a West Ham side almost certainly set for another relegation battle this season would have been the very least of their expectations.
Leicester, meanwhile, would also have hoped to beat newly-promoted West Brom and a sluggish Burnley side playing their first game of the season.

Arsenal’s performance against West Ham would have worried Mikel Arteta, while Leicester’s defending at home to Burnley left a lot to be desired.
Both sides will undoubtedly rest players in this League Cup fixture and that can make the outcomes of these matches difficult to predict.
The two second-string sides could cancel each other out, leaving this one level after 90 minutes.
Eddie Nketiah To Score Anytime
Nketiah provided a late match winner on Saturday after he was sprung from the bench against West Ham and he should be rewarded for those late heroics with a start against Leicester on Wednesday.
Arteta will almost certainly drop Willian and Pierre Emeric Aubameyang – both over 30 – to the bench for a League Cup game, paving the way for Nketiah to lead the line for the Gunners.
The young striker has a proven track record in this competition, scoring four goals in the four cup games he has played, and he will hope to improve that record on Wednesday night.
Nketiah is one of the most likely players on either side to find the back of the net on Wednesday simply because he is one of the biggest certainties to start the game.
It is difficult to know who Brendan Rodgers will start up front; it surely won’t be 33-year-old Jamie Vardy. Such a move would be an absolutely pointless risk.
Kelechi Iheanacho, who scored in both legs of Leicester’s semi-final defeat to Aston Villa last season, will almost definitely get the nod and is also excellent value for money at 15/8.
However, Nketiah should be bolstered by his goalscoring exploits at the weekend and could nab himself another on Wednesday.
Over 3.5 Goals
If Arsenal and Leicester’s defending over the weekend is anything to go by, we could be in for a classic on Wednesday night.
Arsenal offered West Ham several gilt-edged chances in their narrow 2-1 win on Saturday night and, in reality, a better attack would have made them pay.
Leicester, on the other hand, looked extremely shaky at the back against Burnley, conceding twice and offering Burnley several more opportunities.
Both sides are likely to rotate at the back and it should make for an entertaining game since both teams are more than capable of scoring goals.
If Arsenal’s last League Cup game – a 5-5 draw with Liverpool – is anything to go by, it should be a thriller.
