When the draw was made, one of the things Tottenham would have wanted to avoid would have been a trip to Eastern Europe – which is exactly what they have on Thursday.
It’s a hectic schedule for Tottenham. If they do progress through the qualification rounds they would have played nine games in the opening 20 days of the season.
Jose Mourinho has said it’s going to be quite a strong team with Harry Kane playing and I think it’ll be similar to the one that played at the weekend.
In terms of a bet Tottenham are probably too short just to back in the Win market, but if you make it Tottenham to Win to Nil you can get some value there.
Plovdiv will struggle to break them down and it is going to be a stronger team for Spurs, I think, than many may have expected, especially given their potential schedule.
In terms of a goal scorer, Harry Kane is too short. He wasn’t that great for England against Iceland and Denmark a few weeks ago and he wasn’t 100% sharp.
It looks like it’s going to take him another couple of weeks to get up to full match fitness so I’d look for someone else.
And that someone is Lucas Moura who looks fine value to me. He’s never afraid to take someone on or get a shot away either so that’s the one for me if he starts.
