Enjoy the giddiness below and read on to see Jason’s best bets for Leeds’ first game back in the big time.
Liverpool v Leeds at 5.30pm on Saturday
What a game to open with. It’s fantastic from Leeds’s point of view. Not everyone will be glad to see them back, but welcome back to Leeds!
It’s mad to think the last time Leeds won at Anfield 19 year ago that victory pushed them towards the top four and who would have envisaged that we’d be waiting the best part of two decades for them to have a chance of winning at Anfield again? Not that the odds say they have much of a chance!
I’m really looking forward to this game, I think it’s going to be fantastic and from a betting point of view I’m going to side with Both Team To Score. To juice the odds up a bit the first bet I’ll recommend is Liverpool to win and Both Teams To Score.
I select this because Liverpool in pre-season haven’t been fully on it defensively yet and this same bet came on in their opening game last season, a 4-1 win over Norwich.
Leeds will get chances in this game and I fancy them to take one and the Both Teams To Score element is what gives this bet a little bit of value as Liverpool to win is just too short.
Because we’re going the Both Teams To Score angle we’ll need a Leeds player to net and I’d just wait for the team sheet to see if Patrick Bamford or Rodrigo starts but I’ll go with Rodrigo to Score First. If Bamford starts and you like the bet and the odds, back him instead.
Rodrigo’s a very clever and he doesn’t just score goals. He’ll link up the play really, really well. He’s really clever.
Injuries over the last few seasons have stopped him from scoring on a more regular basis but it’s a top signing for a newly-promoted club.
