In Group A during the week, Spain grabbed a very late equaliser against Germany while Ukraine beat Switzerland at home.
In Group B Hungary pulled off a shock on Thursday night beating a much-fancied Turkey in their own backyard while Russia were 3-1 winners over Serbia. For Sunday’s Nations League matches we’ve found a 14/1 Treble that looks very tempting indeed.
17:00 Hungary vs Russia: Russia to Win & BTTS
Hardly anyone fancied Hungary’s chances last Thursday but they went and pulled off a surprise 0-1 win. Thanks to those three points they wouldn’t have expected to win they can push on and take an early lead in the group with another win here.
Russia also won their first match, a 3-1 win over Serbia, in a game many expected Russia to win, even with some injury concerns. As said in a previous article, thanks to the Russian Premier League taking almost no break between seasons the players are sharp and this will probably be evident here again.
The sides have met twice since 2014 with the Russians coming out on top both times and the away side are favourites here. They’ve won four out of five recent matches as well and in their away matches have the same record.
The home side will put up a good fight, beating Turkey will give them a huge confidence boost and at home over the last year took a big scalp beating Croatia and a lesser one when they beat Wales.
We should see both teams scoring here but Russia have the squad and talent to come out on top so we’re backing Russia to Win & BTTS.
19:45 Spain vs Ukraine: Over 2.5 goals
Spain got a jammy equaliser in Stuttgart on Thursday night against Germany. They were pretty bad on the night and had it not been for some bad German finishing the hosts surely would have taken all three points.
Against Ukraine they’re going to have to lift the tempo and put in a good performance. Their home record is incredibly good though, they’ve won their last six matches in-a-row and five of those saw Over 2.5 goals.
Ukraine are decent on their travels though, they’re unbeaten in their last five (two wins and three draws, three saw Over 2.5 goals), indeed they’ve lost just one of their last 10 on the road (four wins, five draws, one loss, six saw Over 2.5 goals).
There’s plenty of goals in both squads and Spain should be a lot better on home turf so we think we’ll see some goals here, we’re backing Over 2.5 goals at some decent odds.
19:45 Serbia vs Turkey: Serbia to Win
Serbia got just about as good as they could have away to Russia midweek while Turkey, as mentioned above, were surprise losers to Hungary. Both are now playing catchup in their group and a positive result for either side will have them right back in it.
Serbia’s home form is very good, they’ve lost just one of their last eight there, winning five and drawing two. Over 2.5 goals landed in seven of those matches.
Turkey have a good away record as well though, they’ve lost just two of their last 10 on the road, winning four and drawing four with Over 2.5 goals landing in five.
While Overs is certainly a good possibility that Turkish performance from during the week is putting us off it so we’re backing Serbia to come out on top here.
These three selections in a treble will give you odds of around 14/1 with Paddy Power.
