Thiago Alcantara next club odds: Liverpool huge favourites to pip Man Utd to star

Manchester United have reportedly joined the battle to sign Bayern Munich’s Thiago, but Paddy’s odds suggest they’re still a way off winning.

We’ve priced Liverpool as odds-on favourites for his signature and our price represents around a 73% chance, compared to Man United’s 20%.

United’s odds briefly shortened following links with Thiago earlier today, but they now sit just ahead of their other major enemies, Manchester City as well as money-bags Paris St-Germain.

Liverpool have long been linked with the Spain international, who appears to be their only major target this summer. Thiago looks like he could be coming in to replace Georginio Wijnaldum who could be on his way to Barcelona with his former national team boss Ronald Koeman reportedly keen.

The Catalans are long odds to sign their former player Thiago, as are FA Cup holders Arsenal.

Chelsea and Juventus have also been given a price by our trusty traders but the Blues have already spent eye-watering amounts this summer and the Old Lady might be dreaming of a move for Lionel Messi instead.

Spokesman Paddy Power said: “Man United might’ve joined the race to sign Thiago, but it’s Liverpool that are streets ahead of them, as we’ve seen several times in the last few years.

“Jurgen Klopp’s side are now odds-on favourites to secure their man. Which I guess is unsurprising, when you consider the choice between Premier League champions or, erm, Europa League semi-finalists.”
