Scottish pub team lodges SFA complaint after Celtic comparison

'You lot are playing like Celtic - no offence'

A pub team in Scotland lodged a complaint with the SFA this morning after they were compared to Celtic.

Malkay McLeod, chairman of ‘The Turtle’s Head Football Club’, contacted the governing body after several Twitter users likened Celtic’s performance last night to that of a pissed-up pub side.

In an official statement written on a chalkboard inside The Turtles Head, McLeod said:

‘After last night’s Champions League exit, we totally refute any claim that Celtic FC are on a similar level to any of the teams we’ve faced in the Glasgow & District Sunday Championship 4th Division this season’.

‘Some of our lads have played better football the morning after a club fundraiser in this pub. It is our intention to begin legal proceedings against anyone else who makes such a comparison’.

‘Ps I’ll be collecting this week’s dues after the snooker. Big Gordy still owes from last week, the chancer.’

Meanwhile, Celtic fans woke to the wonderful news this morning their club is still represented in Europe after Boli Bolingoli booked a second holiday to Spain.

Neil Lennon’s side suffered their earliest Champions League exit in 15-years after falling to a shock defeat at the hands of FC Ferrero Rocher.

However, just when supporters of the Glasgow club thought their adventure in Europe’s top competition was over, defender Boli Bolingoli booked himself two-weeks all-inclusive in Benidorm.

Belgian Bolingoli arranged the trip while recuperating from a slapped wrist for flouting quarantine regulations following a previous Spanish excursion.

The 25-year-old made the announcement this morning in a tweet reading:

‘Never fear lads, I got myself a wee GoPro off Amazon and you can follow me while I continue our European campaign in sunny Benidorm’.

DON’T MISS:

‘I’m sure I can count on that famous Celtic support when I tackle the famous Terra Mítica theme park or while I try to pull a granny at the hotel nightclub’.

It’s a welcome boost for Hoops fans who’d resigned themselves to watching a series of Europa League qualifiers against Scandinavian teams whose names they couldn’t pronounce.
