Football Tips: Our tempting 18/1 treble for Saturday’s Scottish Premiership action

Let's find some value in the Scottish Premiership's 15:00 games on Saturday.

Motherwell vs Hamilton: Motherwell (-1)

The picture already looks bleak for Hamilton after just three games. They may have been spared a relegation dogfight last season due to COVID-19’s timely arrival, but they look set for a long, hard season this year after three defeats in their opening three games.

Motherwell have also endured a disappointing start, collecting just two points from their opening four games. Motherwell’s start is arguably even more disappointing given their third-place finish last season and they will be desperate to turn their season around as quickly as possible.

A home date with lowly Hamilton is the best possible opportunity to do so and they will be hoping to put this one to bed as early as possible and begin their ascent up the Premiership table so back them in the handicap with Motherwell (-1).

(-1)

Rangers vs Kilmarnock: Kilmarnock (+2)

While Kilmarnock’s start to the season has been quite disappointing, they can count themselves unlucky not to have more than just two points.

Kilmarnock were worth their draw at home to perennial champions Celtic and have surrendered leads inside the last ten minutes of their last two games, drawing with Ross County and losing to St. Johnstone.

Steven Gerrard Rangers

It is staggering that Kilmarnock are still awaiting their first win given their performances and their last-minute capitulations, and it looks like they will have to wait at least another week before registering their first three points of the season as they now face Rangers at Ibrox.

Rangers will be desperate to make amends for their draw at Livingston last time out, a result that saw them hand some of the initiative back to Celtic in the early days of the title race.

Steven Gerrard will be keen to avoid a repeat this Saturday, but Kilmarnock will make life difficult for his side and it would be somewhat surprising if Rangers won convincingly, so Kilmarnock (+2) on the handicap looks the one here.

(+2)

St. Mirren vs Ross County: Draw

Saturday also sees a clash between two sides who barely avoided a relegation dogfight last season but have exceeded all expectations so far this season. St. Mirren and Ross County both finished on exactly the same points-per-game last season as they finished 9th and 10th in the league respectively.

However, St. Mirren now find themselves in fifth having won two of their three games this season, while Ross County find themselves in the lofty position of third on seven points.

Obviously, that will change as other teams play their games in hand in a heavily disrupted season, but both sides should be very satisfied with their respective starts. Both sides have beaten sides of a similar calibre and have failed to win a game by more than one goal so they could easily cancel each other out on Saturday afternoon.

These three selections in a treble will give you odds of over 18/1 with Paddy Power.
