Bayern Munich rout of Barcelona helps punter bank more than £2k by conquering 458/1 Same Game Multi

At least Barca’s embarrassment was good for somebody.

Another weekend and yet another case of a punter making a fool of our odds makers!

That’s right, one of our customers from Ipswich had our heads spinning worse than Quique Setien’s on Friday night after landing a bonkers bet on the Bayern Munich v Barcelona game in the Champions League.

The football world may be in shock over Bayern’s 8-2 rout of Barca, but our bean counters were equally stunned to see this wager come up.

Our winner took advantage of our Same Game Multi offering to place an eight-fold punt on the quarter-final tie, landing £2,297 from just a £5 stake and beating odds of 458/1 in the process.

Let’s tell you how the loot was landed.

Three legs of the eight-fold came from the ‘To Be Booked’ market and our victor astutely selected hotheads Arturo Vidal and Luis Suarez from Barcelona, along with Bayern’s Jerome Boateng to enter referee Damir Skomina’s notebook.

Suarez and Boateng saw flashes of yellow either side of half-time, but our winner faced a nervous wait until the dying embers of the game as Vidal untypically stayed out of trouble with the referee.

Thankfully for our crafty customer, that all changed in injury time as Vidal’s frustrations at the scoreline came to boiling point and he was finally cautioned by the ref – much to our winner’s relief.

Both teams to score was also on the betslip, but that leg was wrapped up fairly early as Thomas Muller netted for the Germans in the fourth minute and the Catalan outfit were level just three minutes later as David Alaba sent the ball past his own keeper.

Our punter wanted over 2.5 goals in the game too, and given that it finished 8-2, he certainly made the right call there.

Next on the hitlist was two bets in the Shots On Target market. Firstly, Ivan Perisic to have one shot on target was required and the Croatian did the business in the 22nd minute as he beat Marc-Andre ter Stegen in the Barcelona goal to make it 2-1 on the night.

Two shots on target by Luis Suarez was also a necessity for the punt to come in and the Uruguayan had it in the bag by half time with two shots saved by Bayern’s netminder Manuel Neuer. Suarez eventually beat him in the 57th minute to make it 4-2 with his third shot on the Munich target, and Barcelona would only have five shots on target in total throughout the whole game.

Lastly, over 10.5 corners in the game was needed to get the bet up and Bayern’s relentless thirst to attack meant they almost landed this gamble by themselves.

Bayern secured nine corners in the match added to Barcelona’s slightly surprising total of six, there was a total of 15 corners in the 90 or so minutes and that was easily enough to bring home the bacon.

We love seeing a sweet Same Game Multi land in Power Tower and our winner’s bet was so good all we can do is say: “Welcome to our Punting Hall of Fame!”
