Next Juventus manager odds: Pochettino favourite to take on The Old Lady as Sarri gets binned

It always felt like it was just a matter of time for Maurizio Sarri.

Juventus have stubbed out Maurizio Sarri’s spell as manager after their Champions League elimination via away goals at the hands of Lyon last night. And, with the former Blues boss looking for another job again, who does Paddy think is most likely to replace him at the Italian champions?

Well, there’s little surprise that former Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has been installed as our immediate favourite as the next permanent Juventus manager.

Pochettino got Tottenham playing some lovely stuff and almost shook off that ‘Spursy’ tag by getting them to the Champions League final which, of course, they Spurs’d up and lost.

Second in the market is Lazio gaffer Simone Inzaghi. The former Italy forward has been with I Biancocelesti for four years and could be ready to make the step up after steering his side into the title race before they faded late on in the season.

They say never go back but Max Allegri literally hasn’t gone anywhere since he was given the axe by Juve in 2019. He’s been without a job since the Serie A champions’ hierarchy decided Sarri was the better option. Maybe he was just biding his time to return?

Real Madrid are notoriously cut throat with their managers and next up is their current boss Zinedine Zidane. The Frenchman came to prominence as a player in Turin and saw his Real side dumped out of the Champions League last night thanks to a 4-2 aggregate defeat to Manchester City.

Talking of Man City, their boss Pep Guardiola is perhaps a surprise contender and is next on our list. The Spaniard is incredibly strong willed when it comes to his own career and if he guides City to European glory he may fancy a change.

Atalanta have been the neutral’s favourite Italian team this season and their boss Gian Piero Gasperini is next up in our list ahead of another former Juventus manager, Antonio Conte.

Diego Simeone has been threatening to leave Atletico Madrid for what seems about five years now and Juventus could be the perfect fit for the fiery Argentinian. Then comes Ajax chief Erik ten Hag and we think he’s as likely as Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti to get the job.

Everyone else is 40/1 and up with big names like Jose Mourinho, Brendan Rodgers, Jurgen Klopp and Rafa Benitez all getting a price from our traders.

Odds for the next permanent manager of Juventus

Mauricio Pochettino 6/5
Simone Inzaghi 9/4
Max Allegri 9/2
Zinedine Zidane 14/1
Pep Guardiola 14/1
Gian Piero Gasperini 16/1
Antonio Conte 20/1
Diego Simeone 25/1
Erik ten Hag 33/1
Carlo Ancelotti 33/1
