Football tips: We’re on this 13/2 Same Game Multi for Man United v LASK Linz on Wednesday

European football is back!

Bruno Fernandes

Man United (-2)

We hope someone has the suncream and sandals packed, because if there was ever a team bound to be on their holidays before a game even starts, it’s LASK Linz in this one. The Austrian outfit head to Old Trafford already trailing the home side 5-0 on aggregate and Liverpool’s miracle in Istanbul would pale in comparison if Linz were somehow to progress here.

To put it simply, United are sitting pretty heading into this one and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is free to make wholesale changes if he so wishes. With Champions League football now secure for next season, the pressure is off in Manchester and don’t be surprised to see United ride the wave of freedom they now have all the way to the latter stages.

Linz have lost four in a row coming into this tie, and the fact that they’ve got a friendly lined up two weeks after this game tells you exactly where their priorities lie.

Even with changes expected from United, the higher calibre of talent they have on offer should see them to an emphatic victory here and we fancy them to cover the handicap.

Both Teams to Score: No

It’s fair to say, Linz have been lax when it comes to hitting the onion bag in recent times and they’ve only managed one goal in their last four games before this contest.

We don’t foresee The Red Devils having any trouble finding the net after bagging 11 from their four home Premier League games since the restart.

At the other end, however, after conceding three goals in their last two games at Old Trafford, Solskjaer’s side will need to tighten up at the back.

With Linz’s commitment to this clash questionable, we reckon United can keep their visitors’ scoreboard blank for the 90-plus minutes required for our punt to come in.

Man United to have Over 1.5 Goals in the First Half

Visiting teams have been feeling the pain in the first half at Old Trafford of late, as United have scored seven of their 10 Premier League goals since the resumption in the opening period.

With Linz’s backline leakier than 10 Downing Street (conceding 9 goals in 4 games), we fancy United to pile on the misery this Wednesday night.

The Reds have Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, Mason Greenwood and Bruno Fernandes firing on all cylinders and even if some of those star performers are rested, you’d think that the Austrian resistance won’t hold out too long against the remainder of them.

We reckon United will score early and often here to bring in the final bet in our Same Game Multi.
