Football tips: This 4/1 Same Game Multi for Brentford v Fulham on Tuesday is the pick of the bunch

Who is going to join Leeds and West Brom in the Premier League?

From a neutral perspective, this is the Championship play-off final everyone wanted to see.

Fulham and Brentford will provide a far more exciting final than either Swansea or Cardiff ever could and the prospect of a side like Brentford playing in the Premier League for the first time makes it even more exciting.

The Bees rediscovered their form at precisely the right moment, just as it looked as though their season was drifting to an unsatisfying conclusion following three successive defeats.

Their performance in the second leg against Swansea was terrific, and the pace and movement up front made it impossible for the Welsh side to contain them.

Brentford to win

In truth, Brentford could have scored several more with Said Benrahma, in particular, guilty of spurning several gilt-edged chances.

Fulham, on the other hand, were far more unconvincing in their second leg against Cardiff and did their best to blow a two-goal lead.

The Cottagers have come up short against Brentford on the two occasions they’ve faced off in the league and it’s difficult to see them reversing the trend.

Thomas Frank Brentford

Ollie Watkins to score anytime

Brentford owe a great deal of thanks to Ollie Watkins, who came good at exactly the right time to tear the Swansea defence apart.

Watkins scored one and created several glorious chances for his teammates in the final ever game at Griffin Park.

His strike partners, meanwhile, looked less convincing in front of goal. Benrahma, as mentioned above, missed several chances, including one that Watkins laid on a plate for him. It is now five games without a goal for Benrahma and it will be hard to rediscover his goalscoring touch at this most crucial time.

Bryan Mbeumo, on the other hand, scored an excellent volley, but also looked unsure when through on goal in the first half.

It is Watkins, therefore, that is the most reliable Brentford forward to find the back of the net.

Over 2.5 goals

Thomas Frank’s side boast the best goalscoring record in the Championship, with a whopping 80 goals in the 46-game season. If they can replicate their form against Swansea last Wednesday, they will score more than once on Tuesday night, especially if Fulham defend how they did against Cardiff at Craven Cottage.

Granted, most of Cardiff’s chances came from set pieces and Brentford will attack Fulham in a very different manner, but The Cottagers’ defending will be worrying nonetheless.

Brentford, for their part, have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last four games and, as Pontus Jansson indicated last Wednesday, are still prone to defensive lapses.

Fulham should also welcome Aleksandar Mitrovic back to the fold on Tuesday night. The Championship top scorer wasn’t risked in either game against Cardiff, and should be chomping at the bit to get back into the swing of things.

Neeskens Kebano is also in a fine run of goalscoring form, making it hard to see Brentford keeping a clean sheet on Tuesday. From a neutral perspective, it hopefully points to a high-scoring affair
