Paddy Power Exclusive: Everton legends issue message to Liverpool title winners on day of coronation – ‘F*** off’

Blue noses and even bluer language.

On the day that Liverpool will finally lift the Premier League title for the first time in their history, the whole world has been paying tribute to Jurgen Klopp’s all-conquering side with messages pouring in from throughout the footballing universe.

Including, perhaps surprisingly, from the blue half of Merseyside.

Paddy Power tracked down Everton legends Peter Reid, Kevin Campbell, Michael Ball (the other one), and Tony Cottee, and asked them to send a message to Liverpool’s title winners.

And it went exactly as you might expect. Check out the ‘congratulations’ from Everton legends below.

When asked for a comment…

  • Peter Reid, voted fourth-best player in the world in 1985, said: “Are you f***ing sure? Behave.”
  • Kevin Campbell, a league title winner with Arsenal and Nottingham Forest, but not Everton, remarked: “I’m not happy about Liverpool winning anything,” before flipping the bird.
  • Michael Ball, who won one cap for England, sung: “I’ve got nothing to say. Go away.”
  • Tony Cottee, who seems really quite nice on the telly, raged: “You can all f*** off, the lot of you.”

The tongue-in-cheek video was released on Paddy Power’s social channels this morning ahead of the Kop’s trophy-raising spectacular at Anfield tonight.
