Football tips: Our trader’s super selections for Aston Villa v Arsenal on Tuesday

Can Villa take it until the final day?

It’s last chance saloon for Aston Villa on Tuesday and they have given themselves a half chance of staying up, needing four points in their last two games.

Arsenal making the FA Final may help Villa in this one, as I can see The Gunners making mass changes on Tuesday with the final in mind, and they have not got much to play for in their last two league games either.

I think it would be crazy for Arsenal to play some of their key players just three days after a tough FA Cup semi-final victory over Manchester City.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Kieran Tierney, Dani Ceballos and Granit Xhaka should all be rested, as well as David Luiz and Shkodran Mustafi – although that may not make a difference!

Aston Villa to win

Dean Smith are on a mini revival and I am going to tip them to win here.

They have not been great in these last couple of games, but are showing some grit and managed to grind out two results to keep them in with a chance.

If their star man Jack Grealish can turn it on, an Aston Villa win might get be on the cards.

Jack Grealish to have 2 or more shots on target

Cometh the hour, cometh the man! While Grealish has not been in the best of form since the restart, he has showed a couple glimpses – but not close to his form in the first half of the season.

In such a huge game for Villa, they will continue to give the ball to Jack and to his credit he never shies away.

I can see him having plenty in possession in the final third and I’m going to tip Jack Grealish 2 or more shots on target.

Jack Grealish first goal & Villa to win 2-0 @ 85/1 or Jack Grealish first goal & Villa to win 2-1 @ 70/1

It’s going to be a tight and cagey match, as Villa know they must keep it tight with defeat spelling disaster for them. They really need a point minimum.

Watford are up against Man City earlier in the evening, so even a point should keep Villa survival hopes alive as City should win comfortably.

There last eight matches have only had a combined 15 goals, with no more than three goals in any of them matches. We have a few options here, but I am going to double-Dutch a couple of big-priced scorecasts.
