Football Tips: Expect Leicester to take big step towards a top 4 finish at Tottenham

Leicester have been a bit Spursy recently, but we're backing them to turn it around against Tottenham.

Jose Mourinho Brendan Rodgers

We are treated to another massive game in the race for European football on Sunday at 16:00 between Tottenham and Leicester. Anything other than a win will be disastrous for Leicester and, unfortunately for them, they are coming up against an in-form Tottenham who look a completely different team compared to the one before the break.

Since the break Leicester have given up a lot of points. They really should have the Top 4 wrapped up, but they went on a very poor run of form while Manchester United just seemed to win every game they played with ease and closed a very big gap to nothing more than goal difference.

Leicester win

On Thursday night Leicester came out as 2-0 winners against Sheffield United and it was probably their best performance since the return of football. It really couldn’t have come at a better time as they need to win every game until the end of the season.

Their form does worry me, but I do believe they turned a corner in that match against Sheffield United and with this one against Spurs being a must-win game, I really do think they will get the job done on Sunday. So, for these reasons, the first bet will be Leicester to win.

Over 2.5 goals

Looking then at the overs market, Tottenham have found their scoring form again whereas Leicester never really stopped. The first scorer in this game will have a big advantage as the other team will have to chase the game. So, if there’s a first-half goal I can really see this game opening up.

Looking at the stats then, and Over 2.5 goals has landed in 61% of Tottenham’s games and in 58% of Leicester’s games so I am happy to take Over 2.5 goals for this match.

Jamie Vardy 2 or more shots on target

Finally, we move onto Jamie Vardy. I feel that Leicester really need him to show up on Sunday to get the result they want and he looked lively against Chris Wilder’s side on Thursday night, supplying an assist.

Vardy has averaged 1.3 shots on target per game this season and, with this being such a vital game, he really needs to do the business for Leicester. The final bet that I will be taking is Jamie Vardy 2 or more shots on target.
