Football Tips: 7/2 Salah to strike against Gunners on Wednesday

Liverpool should've shaken off the celebration hangover by the time they visit the Emirates on Wednesday

Mohamed Salah

If both of these teams could erase last weekend’s results from the record books I am sure they would.

Sluggish! Awful! Dross! A lot of words thrown around about both teams last weekend.

But that’s all in the past, and the question for punters is who will be keener to wipe the slate clean on Wednesday night?

Put simply, our answer has to be Liverpool still.

If this fixture was a ‘normal’ end-of-the-season game with a title and top four still to play for, Liverpool would be a very short price to pick up the points at the Emirates.

This time around they are around even money shots, which means we make them a 50% chance to take a win back to Anfield.

Why? Well since the return of football, Liverpool’s form is as follows in their last six games:

Sluggish – drew 0-0
Excellent – won 4-0
Battered (probably very hungover) – lost 4-0
Second gear – won 2-0
Third gear – Won 3-1
Neutral gear – Drew 1-1

Whereas Arsenal, despite winning some games, have been poor and seem to be just waiting to make more changes during the offseason.

Both Aubamayeng and Salah are in with a sniff for the golden boot too, and I fancy Liverpool here to really help Salah with his cause.

He has the look of a player wanting those goals to catch Vardy – I don’t think he will – but I will be going straight in on Salah first goalscorer at around 7/2 all the same.

Since the return, Arsenal have had only one game without a booking and in their last three games have nine cards, including a straight red.

In the #WhatOddsPaddy featured markets, you can have a look at this one – Liverpool to score 2 or more goals , Liverpool 6 or more corners & Arsenal 3 or more cards – which we’ve priced up at 14/1.

Finally, as you cant look at a football match without seeing a penalty these days, Liverpool to score a penalty also appeals.

With the lack of crowds and player intensity, it appears referees think the shackles are off and are blowing up left, right and centre. Man Utd already hold the Premier League record now with 13 this season, the highest in over 25 years.

All in all, this looks like a comfortable win for Liverpool at the Emirates and will wipe the bad taste from their mouths of last week.
