Justice Refund: Sunderland, Posh, Tranmere and Crewe, Paddy’s here to ease your pain

We’re doing the right thing, even if the Football League bigwigs won’t.

Covid 19 continues to cause chaos across the footballing world and it was announced yesterday that it has brought League One and Two to a premature close. The decision has prompted outrage up and down the country, specifically Sunderland, Peterborough, Tranmere and Crewe.

The Black Cats and Posh have missed out on making the playoffs after League One clubs voted to end the season early while Tranmere have been relegated to League Two. Crewe missed out on the title in the fourth tier as Swindon leapfrogged them on points-per-game.

Clearly, it’s been a complicated decision to reach – but that doesn’t make it any easier to take for several clubs affected by the decision to end the season early.

It’s hard not to feel sorry for the likes of Tranmere, Crewe, Peterborough, and Sunderland, and we agree it is an injustice – so are refunding our punters who backed those teams.

That includes single bets on Peterborough and Sunderland to make the League One play-offs or to get promoted, as both teams finished just one point behind the top six with almost a quarter of the season remaining.

We’re also refunding single bets on Tranmere staying up after they were relegated by just 0.04 of a point. They were three points from safety with a game in hand when the season was ended.

It’s the same case for backers of Crewe to win League Two as The Railwaymen were dropped to second place in the final league table because Swindon Town had a game in hand and were on level points.

We know our Justice Refund won’t take away the pain of relegation or missing out on the title, but at least punters who backed these four sides will not be out of pocket. Cheers, Paddy!
