Football tips: The reasons why Bayern will beat Frankfurt to nil on Saturday

This one gets underway at 17:30 on Saturday.

Frankfurt were really slow out of the blocks last weekend and found themselves 2-0 down to Borussia Monchengladbach after just 10 minutes. If they are not awake from the start this one could be over just as quick. Hopefully Frankfurt show up and put up a bit more of fight.

They are in a spot of bother and are one to consider at a bit of a price in the relegation market at 30/1.

They could go on a bit of a bad run and are just five points ahead of Fortuna Dusseldorf, who lie third last in the table. They also have Werder Bremen to play as well, who are in a dogfight for survival at the foot of the table.

I see a Bayern win to nil here. Not a massive hammering but they should dominate the game. They’ve won 11 of their last 12 games. Frankfurt just don’t have the goal threat for me. I know they managed to nick one against last weekend against Gladbach but their striker Bas Dost was absolutely wrecked after the game.

He admitted as much after the game. Andre Silva came off the bench and hasn’t really kicked on since his spells at Porto and AC Milan. So, I just don’t think there is many goals in that Frankfurt team. I also think Manuel Neuer looks like he’s back to something like his best. So, Bayern to win to nil looks the bet.

In terms of a goalscorer, I find it hard to tip Robert Lewandowski because he is so short in price. But he has 26 goals now after the penalty last weekend against Union Berlin and looked fit and sharp. 10 of his 26 goals this season have been the First goal in the game.

If Bayern score it’s highly likely that it’ll be him who gets it.

Lewandowki is therefore one to use in a First / Anytime Goal-scorer Acca if you’re going for one this weekend.
