And there’s massive winners too, of course. They might’ve hit him in the pocket back in the day, but the punter’s pal is itching to cut six-figure sum for some wily football wagerers now.

While your crafty backers might look to the Peruvian second division for decent value bets in their football accas, for most of us, it’s all about the Premier League – and that was certainly the case for this incredible football bet from the final Sunday of the Premier League 2018/19 campaign.

Picking the results of all ten games over any Premier League weekend is some feat, but with many of the league’s big questions settled prior to kick-off, reading the tealeaves as to who wouldn’t already be on the Marbella beach and who’d be playing for professional pride ade the task doubly difficult.

The tenfold included calling already-relegated Cardiff’s win over Man United at Old Trafford at a very nice price of 10/1, and another team dropping a division, Huddersfield, claiming one final point against Southampton before hitting the Championship.

Arsenal, playing to type, went to Burnley and won when it was all but mathematically certain they’d miss the top-four. Spurs’ point against Everton meant they finished ahead of their North London rivals, and was the second of three draws on the fixture list, with Chelsea and Leicester playing out a stalemate.

West Ham, Newcastle and Palace all won, bringing the correct calls to 8-from-10 bets, leaving just the two title challengers to determine the fate of this colossal call.

Hard as it might be to imagine today, Liverpool weren’t totally dominant at this stage and were merely tuning up for their incredible run this season as they pushed Man City all the way. They lost once and drew just seven times as they finished second, rounding off a storming 97-point league campaign with a 2-0 win over Wolves at Anfield.

That result could’ve been enough to haul them past Pep’s Man City on the final day had the Sky Blues slipped up away at Brighton, and it looked like a possibility early on.

Well, for about a minute.

Glenn Murray put the Seagulls ahead and in the 27th minute and sent all Liverpool fans’ hopes sky-rocketing – only for Kun Aguero to slot home in the 28th and settle things back down as City rolled to a 4-1 win and another title.

That result meant this tremendous tenfold paid out at odds of 23,496/1, and with a £5 bet a £117, 485 return dropped as Vincent Kompany lifted the Premier League trophy – though I doubt many City fans celebrated as much as this lucky punter.
