Man Utd fans vote to have season cancelled in Paddy’s poll – to deny Liverpool the title

This would be so cruel on Liverpool

Most football fans just want to see the beautiful game return, even if it means games being played behind closed doors.

But that doesn’t apply to Manchester United supporters – who seem keen to have the season cancelled.

Scrapping the season has always seemed an extreme measure, but in a Paddy survey, United were the only top-flight club whose majority of fans voted in favour of annulling the 2019-20 campaign – presumably to stop bitter rivals Liverpool getting the title they clearly deserve.

In a survey sent to all our customers and followers, 52% said that they believed carrying on behind closed doors this summer was the fairest way to complete the season.

But one in four fans (25%) believe the season should be declared null and void – with United fans the only set of supporters from the Premier League who would most prefer to see the season voided.

Overall 31% of fans said they’re up for sacrificing their season to stop Liverpool winning the title – despite being miles clear at the top and needing a monumental collapse to mess it up.

Just 13% think the season should finish now as the league table stands and there’s just 5% who are up for a play-off scrap to decide the league winners, European spots and relegation. The same amount thought a points-per-game method was fair too.

There’s not much love the League Cup, with England’s ‘third competition’ set for the chop if the majority of fans surveyed get their way.
