Five games. Five correct scores. Easy.

When you look at the numbers, it’s remarkable that we’re still in business at all, to be honest.

First up at number ten in our list of great football heists, it’s this gut-punching correct-score fivefold from 2015…

We’ve all taken a look at those overnight matches from South America and thought’there must be a few decent punts down there – if only I could stay up ’til 5am to watch them every night.

Well, one punter must’ve been maintaining caffeine back in 2015 because they pulled off an absolutely stunning stroke against our soccer traders and secured their spot in our top-ten countdown.

You don’t  have to tell me how hard it is to pick one correct score – I can show you my punting record if you like – so picking five of them in the one evening is some achievement.

This 60,800/1 stunner came from across Latin America. Mexico’s Liga MX saw a real catfight between the Jaguares and Tigres, the latter clawing their way to a 1-0 win. River Plate – no, not that one – won in Ecuador 1-0 too at 7/, and Jorge Wilstermann made it three-from-three with a 2-0 win in the Bolivian top-flight.

Those three correct score picks could’ve returned at 759/1 as it was – not too shabby.

But it didn’t stop there. Independiente Santa Fe were the next to come in with a 2-1 win at 9/1, lifting the total odds to 7,600/1, before the fivefold was rounded off with a nail-biter of a ni-all selection – what kind of sick mind backs a scoreless draw to finish that bet?

But it came in and lifted the price to 60,800/1.

It’s just a pity there was only 50p on it!

Must do better next time.
