Turf Moor will host Saturday evening’s late Premier League match and Burnley will be looking to extend their unbeaten run to five matches. Spurs, meanwhile, have won just one match in their last five and are going to a ground where they’ve only won eight times in 39 matches. They could be in for yet another tough evening.
Burnley vs Spurs: Over 2.5 Goals – Evens
Burnley’s recent Premier League record is even better, they’ve not lost since January 11th when Chelsea beat them 3-0 at Stamford Bridge. However, since then they’ve won four and lost two of their six Premier League matches. At home things aren’t so good where they’ve won two, drawn one and lost two of their last five, however, they’re unbeaten in their last three in a row. Over 2.5 goals has landed in the last 3/5.
Spurs’ form has gone to the dogs of late. They had been on a run of seven matches unbeaten in all competitions but since then have drawn one (losing on penalties) and lost three. Away from home, they’ve won just one of their last five, drawing two and losing two. Goals have been plentiful, however, even though they are obviously without their two best players; Harry Kane and Son Heung-Min. 3/5 have also seen Over 2.5 goals landing and the last two meetings between the pair at Turf Moor have also seen Overs come in. The odds are good on this at Evens and with those stats it’s definitely worth a nibble.
Burnley vs Spurs: A Goal Scored in Both Halves (Yes) – 8/11
We’re going to get stats heavy here so bear with us.
Burnley tend to score late in games, 72.8% of their goals come in the second half with a whopping 36.4% coming in the last 15 minutes. They don’t tend to score until late, however they’re conceding 1.29 goals per game on average and the average time of a conceded goal is 33 minutes.
For Spurs they’ve scored 52.2% of their goals in the second half so 47.8% in the first half, indeed the average time of the first goal they score is at 29 minutes when playing away from home. With those stats in mind we’d be fairly confident of seeing at least one goal in the first half and a couple in the second. A Goal Scored in Both Halves is at 8/11.
Burnley vs Spurs: Phil Bardsley to be Booked – 7/5
Phil Bardsley doesn’t like playing against Spurs. He’s been booked in the last two matches that he’s played against them.
And he was booked in both of Burnley’s previous Premier League matches, away to Newcastle and at home to Bournemouth. Ashley Westwood would be another decent candidate at 11/5 but we’re going with Phil because he seems to have it in for Spurs.
A £/€1 treble on these three selections returns £/€5.86 including stake on pp.com. Odds correct at time of posting, subject to change.Saturday 5.30pm: Burnley 17/10, Draw 9/4, Spurs 17/10
